Visit to Miyajima

01 June, 2025

On May 23, the 10th batch of MSP students visited Miyajima in Hiroshima. When they arrived on the island, they first headed to Itsukushima shrine. It was low tide, so they had the rare opportunity to walk under the grand torii gate. MSP students were moved by the sacred sight of the red-lacquered shrine up close. On the way to the shrine, deer walked slowly among the tourists, creating a peaceful atmosphere.

They enjoyed Miyajima's famous oysters for lunch. The grilled oysters were fragrant, and they felt that enjoying local food was one of the pleasures of traveling. They also tried fried Momiji Manju, sweet bun, from a shop along the way. The crispy outside and sweet, hot inside of the momiji manju left a strong impression on the MSP students.

In Miyajima, where history, nature, and food culture harmonize, MSP students experienced the charm of Japan with all five senses. This visit was a meaningful day that combined learning and fun.
Currently, the 10th batch of MSP students are working hard on their research papers, and they will continue to do their best to bring their research results in shape.
