The 9th batch MSP students paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Kishida.

Ten 9th batch students of the Maritime Safety and Security Policy Program (MSP) visited Prime Minister Kishida at the Prime Minister's Office on Thursday, September 12, 2024. The 9th MSP started in October 2023, and the students have finished the one year program at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) and Japan Coast Guard Academy (JCGA).
During the courtesy call, the students gave a speech, and PM Kishida offered congratulatory words and encouragement. Lastly, commemorative photos were taken.
One of the students shared this sentiment: “By taking advantage of our experiences in Japan, we will continue cooperating to protect our shared ocean and uphold order based on the rule of law, ensuring a safer and more secure maritime environment for all.”
Prime Minister Kishida said that he hopes their contribution to the peace, security and prosperity of Indo-Pacific region with the shared value of free and open international order based on the rule of law.
With encouragement from the Prime Minister, all the MSP 9th batch students will contribute to the peace, security and prosperity of the oceans even after leaving Japan with the advanced practical and applied knowledge as well the strong networking relationships formed through this program at GRIPS and JCGA.
