Research and Development
Professors and other faculty members at the Japan Coast Guard Academy are assigned to one of the following departments: Liberal Arts, Maritime Science and Technology, Maritime Police, or Maritime Safety Technology. They conduct research in the following areas:

- Area Studies of Neighboring Countries
Utilizing the expertise of professors and other faculty, our researchers establish “research units” for each research theme, focusing on topics requiring cross-disciplinary examination, and advance research accordingly at the CeMaS.
This “research unit” engages in interdisciplinary and comprehensive research, involving not only professors from the Japan Coast Guard Academy but also, as needed, visiting researchers from external institutions such as other universities and research organizations.
