24 September, 2024
Under the blazing midsummer sun, we had the incredible opportunity to explore several fascinating cities in Japan. This journey offered a unique blend of natural wonders, historical sites, and modern urban experiences that left us in awe of Japan's diverse culture and landscape.
Sakurajima, demonstrating Japan's raw power, was magnificent and awe-inspiring. The sight of this smoldering giant, constantly puffing ash into the sky, was both intimidating and mesmerizing. Despite the summer heat, we couldn't resist taking a ferry ride to get a closer look at this natural wonder. The city of Kagoshima itself was a delightful mix of historical and modern elements. We also visited the Sengan-en, a traditional Japanese garden and stately home that offered stunning views of Sakurajima.
Our journey then took us to Fukuoka, a vibrant city that seamlessly blends the old and the new. While the summer heat was intense, the city's energy was infectious. A highlight of our visit was exploring Kokura Castle, a stunning example of Japanese architecture in the heart of Kitakyushu. Inside, the castle houses a museum showcasing samurai armor, swords, and other historical artifacts, providing a fascinating glimpse into Japan's past.
Our summer journey through several Japanese cities was an unforgettable experience. Despite the challenging weather, the warmth of the people, the richness of the culture, and the beauty of the landscapes made every moment worthwhile.
