The 10th batch students of the Maritime Safety and Security Policy Program, MSP, paid a courtesy call on Minister Nakano of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and Commandant Seguchi of the Japan Coast Guard on November 27, 2024.  The nine members of the 10th batch expressed their enthusiasm for a year-long program, which will not only deepen their knowledge and understanding of international security and other themes, but also build a strong network among students so that they can contribute to their respective organizations in the future.

The Minister and the Commandant gave the students words of encouragement, expressing their appreciation for their efforts in studying and living in an unfamiliar environment away from their home countries.  They also encouraged the students to develop bonds with their peers and hope to see them in a year's time with greater growth.

Student Voice: “We are now working hard on writing research papers in addition to our daily tasks and class preparations.  It gets colder and winter is coming soon, but we cheer up each other while taking care of our mental and physical health and will overcome any difficulties together as a crew of nine.”
